Maximum of 170 people to climb Mt. Everest at a time

Kathmandu. The Department of Tourism has issued instructions that only 150 to 170 people can climb the highest peak Mt. Everest at a time.

Last year, when the weather was favorable, all the climbers went for the climb at the same time, causing traffic jams and other problems.

This year, a new directive has been issued to manage the climb in the spring. In the spring of 2019, thousands of climbers were on their way to climb Mt. Everest at the same time when the image of a traffic jam went viral around the world.

During the ascent of Mt. Everest, the road is paved and ropes are hung. After the completion of these works, the ascent is done according to the favorable weather.

But as soon as the favorable weather is seen, all the climbers go climbing, which makes them uncomfortable. This year, the department has made a schedule of climbing on the basis of permission.

According to the information issued by the department, those who have obtained permission through permit letter no. 6, 7, 9, 14, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 32, 34, 36, 37 and 38 have been asked to climb. Similarly, in the second favorable season 40, 41, 43, 45, 46, 47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 55, 57, 59, 62, 63, 67 and 68 are allowed to climb.

Those who have obtained permission through permission are asked to ascend. Those who have obtained permission after no 72 are asked to climb in the third favorable season.

However, the department said that if this arrangement makes it difficult for the climbers to climb, it will be possible for the climbing management agencies to reach an agreement by mutual consent and coordination so as not to increase the number to 150 to 170 without affecting the climb.

Everest expeditions- Every thing you should know

For this, the mountaineering operators’ association should coordinate with the agencies that can manage the mountaineering. In the spring of this year, 371 people from 39 groups have taken permission to climb Mt. Everest.

This is a lower number than in the past. Similarly, 659 people from 74 groups have taken permission to climb all the mountains including Everest.

The department also mentions that those who go from one mountaineering to another or go hiking must have a Corona PCR test.

It has been mentioned that another mountaineering will be allowed only after the negative report of PCR. He also said that if any tourist needs to be searched and rescued, the department and the tourism police unit should be informed.
