April 24, Kathmandu. The Pashupatinath temple has been closed since Friday for the public due to the risk of corona infection.
The Pashupati Area Development Fund has decided to stop the visitors from Friday and only perform daily worship.
Treasurer of Pashupati Area Development Fund Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa said that the temples including Pashupatinath and Guheshwari have been banned from conducting activities other than regular worship for an indefinite period.
Last year too, the temples in the Pathupathnath area were closed for nine months due to the lockdown imposed by the government to control the pandemic.
Likewise, the Trust has urged people to not breach the number set by the government for ritualistic events, including funeral procession.
Attendants of a funeral have been asked to follow the safety protocol, PADT said.
