Tourist arrivals have declined in the Koshitappu Wildlife reserve, which is the tourist hub of Province No. 1. Tourist arrivals in the reserve have declined by 33.57 percent due to the government’s Lockdown on Covid-19.
According to Ramdev Chaudhary, Conservation Officer of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Sanctuary, 14,712 tourists from Nepal, SAARC countries and foreigners had visited the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve in the fiscal year 2075/76 BS. Similarly, In 2076/77, the number of tourists in the region declined to 11,014.
In the fiscal year 2076/77, 10 thousand 825 Nepali, 19 SAARC countries and 170 foreign tourists visited the reserve, said Conservation Officer Chaudhary. He said that the number of domestic and foreign tourists has decreased due to the lockdown.
