Gorkha is one of the famous district of Gandaki Pradesh by which Nepali are famous with the name of Brave Gurkhas .
Gorkha was founded by the Shah dynasty. Drabya Shah decided to establish a home and began ruling in 1560 A.D. Later, the place became popular during the reign of king Ram Shah (1604 – 1641 A.D.) who was known for his justice.
Nepal was divided into hundreds of small quarrying and bickering kingdoms. A young king from north, Prithivi Narayan Shah, changed all that. His vision led to a successful unification campaign, resulting in the formation of a strong country that stood against the East India Company. It is remarkable to note that the legendary Gurkha warriors are named after this very kingdom of Gorkha.
