Attraction Of Chitlang


Chitlang is an organic village in the way of living life in an organic style. Chitlang is located in the Thaha Municipality of Makwanpur District, Bagmati Pradesh, Nepal. In this post, we are giving you information about the Main Attraction Of Chitlang.

1.  Get Close With Nature

One of the first sights that will repeatedly follow your vision in Chitlang is hills, teeming with greens. Unless you are living under a rock; this famous landmark of the place- intriguing Pear farms is a common sight in social media.

But it is without a doubt that here you will enjoy peaceful walks at the break of the dawn, as the light of the light slowly chases away the darkness and makes the surrounding hills breathtakingly green. If this isn’t enough you might want to venture into the nearby forest, which is home to a wide species of birds. Bird watching is definitely one of the activity not to miss while in Chitlang.

2. Asoka Chaita

It is located at ward no. 5 of Chitlang VDC. It was built by emperor Asoka of Magadh during the Kirat period when he came to Nepal. He established several other Chaitya. Every on the day of Buddha’s birthday, the Buddhist of Kathmandu valley come to Chitlang.

3. Goat Farming

It’s the largest grazing land in Nepal. The government has goat farm project in this land. Previously there was sheep farming. It lies at a distance of 5 KM from the resort. With the help of the firm, Chitlang has taken the initiation to make goat cheese.

Goat Cheese industry is run by goats milk. It is the most famous and important cheese factory in Nepal. This industry is the most famous industry in Chitlang. This industry moreover earns an income from Chitlang. Most of Cheese is produced in this industry and then distributed all over Nepal.

4. Kartik Purnima Naach

Naach is the most famous culture of Chitlang also known as Kartik Punhi Jatra. This is the older culture of Newar so they celebrate this culture not for only save their culture but also for the attraction of the tourist. This naach is of 5 days which happened in Majhgaun Chitlang-5. They worship different god n goddesses same time n show beautiful and attractive dance (naach).

5. Pauwa

It is an ancient structure of bricks having fine wood carving which is situated in ward no. 2 of the village. The décor of the building reflects the tradition of Nepal’s fine art, artistry and craftsmanship. The decorative artistic pillar, tunal arts and the architectural style are the main attractions. Regularly the deteriorating state of the architecture needs urgent renovation and conservation as important resources of cultural tourism. This legendary structure is situated in the extreme northern side of Chitlang along the way the way Bhimphedi, the ancient strategic point of journey to and from Kathmandu when in the earlier day highways like Tribhuwan Rajpath did not exist then.

6. SaatDhara

As the legend goes, this is the place where the gods and goddesses – Ganesh, Shiva, Krishna, Saraswoti were located and thus the term ‘Saatdhara’ is derived from the seven stone taps close to the gods. The place is surrounded by a beautiful botanical forest having its setting like a natural garden of mostly Katush trees. Every year on the day of Basanta Panchami, the local people celebrate the colorful festival at the site of Saatdhara worshiping and paying home age to goddess Saraswoti.

7. Shivalaya

It is an ancient structure of bricks having fine wood carving which is situated in the ward no. 2 of the village. The décor of the building reflects the tradition of Nepal’s fine art, artistry and craftsmanship. The decorative artistic pillar, tunal arts and the architectural style are the main attractions. 8. Explore The Neighbourhood

The charm of Chitlang lies in its hushed neighborhood, home to different castes of people you will experience numerous cultures and lifestyles as you step into yet another part of the village. Some parts of the village will greet you with old brick structured houses with dried chillies and maize hanging in the window sill; as if taken straight out of a Newar settlement in Kathmandu, while others are coated with brown organic paint. Either way, you will have much to explore in this quaint village; from hidden waterfalls, to abandoned old houses you will not be bored by its surprises.
