Guthi Sansthan has again postponed the chariot ride of Rato Matsyendranath. The chariot ride scheduled on Wednesday afternoon has been postponed by issuing a notice on Wednesday night.
A statement issued by the Guthi Sansthan Lalitpur branch office said that the chariot ride could not be held on the scheduled date due to the coronavirus.
The moment of the chariot ride on Wednesday morning was said to be for Saturday, July 25. The construction work of the chariot, which was halted due to corona on April 12, was resumed on June 24. But the chariot has not been ridden yet.
Kirtimadan Joshi, who is also a member of the Panchang Judging Committee, had planned to start the chariot ride from 12:10 pm to 12:25 pm and start the procession on the same day. According to sources, the corporation has postponed the chariot ride on the direction of the administration as the government has not decided to open the festival due to Kovid.
