TIA Expands Domestic Flight Time To 18 Hours

27 April- Kathmandu, The regulatory body, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), has expanded existing domestic flight time to 18 hours a day to manage growing air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). In keeping with the rise in air traffic, the TIA has made necessary preparation to operate domestic flights up to 18 hours per day in six airports in the Terai region of Nepal from tomorrow, shared Director-General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari.

The CAAN has decided to run the airport from 6.00 am through 12 the night in Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. This would help reduce existing air service pressure in Kathmandu airport and also give a relief to the pandemic-battered tourism sector, he shared
