Taplejung, 7 October. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said that preparations are underway to open religious Pilgrims across the country from October 17.
Minister Bhattarai, who arrived in Taplejung, the home district, on Wednesday to inaugurate the Border Out Post (BOP) at Olangchungola, told reporters at Suketar Airport, “The government is ready to reopen a certain number of religious and cultural areas that have been closed for a long time due to Kovid-19.”
Minister Bhattarai said that the proposal to open the religious sector would be taken up in the next cabinet meeting and if passed, it would be gradually opened from the beginning of the third week of October.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Minister Bhattarai inaugurated the BOP at Olangchungola. He expressed confidence that the security challenges in the border areas would be gradually reduced with the establishment of BOPs in the border areas with China.
Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane, Inspector General of Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri, Inspector General of Armed Police Shailendra Khanal and others were present on the occasion.
