Pokhara, 25 November: The International Mountain Museum based in Pokhara Metropolitan City-17 has been reopened from Tuesday.
The museum that remained closed for eight months due to the lockdown imposed by the government to control coronavirus infection spread across the country has come to resumption.
A total of 33 tourists visited the museum, established by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, on the first day, said Director at the museum, Shankar Gautam.
The museum has been reopened by fully adopting health safety protocols, he added. Arrangement of tickets—Rs 50 for students, Rs 100 for Nepali citizens, Rs 200 for visitors from SAARC and Rs 500 for other tourists have been made for entering and visiting the museum while a ticket costs Rs 30 for entering into the garden.
The materials reflecting the life of people in the Himalayas as well as activities that have been taken place so far on the world’s peaks to date, the mountains, effects of climate change, rocks and wildlife have been kept on display in the museum which is spread on 100 ropanis of land.
It is believed that the museum would become an additional destination for domestic tourists visiting Pokhara despite coronavirus infection (RSS).
