Three schemes launched at todke

POKHARA, Dec 10: Three schemes have been launched to build infrastructure at Todke, a tourist spot in the border area of ​​Raghuganga, Mangala and Beni municipalities of Myagdi.

Raghuganga village municipality has allocated Rs.10, 289,677 for construction of trekking route, gardens, and playgrounds. Chairman of the Village Municipality Bhab Bahadur Bhandari informed that all the three schemes have been implemented through the contract process.

“A contract has been signed for the construction of Jhin-Todke road and Todke playground,” he said. Last July, Khusi Home Builders Pvt. Ltd. of Beni signed contract at Rs 5.82 million. The total cost estimate of the scheme is Rs. 10,100,000 was made. Engineer Sudip Gautam of the village municipality informed that a garden with 425 meters paved footpath, two waiting rooms and a viewing place is being constructed on the hilly road.

Similarly, Rs. 3.88 million has been estimated for the construction of Jhin-Todke road. Contract agreement has been signed for Rs. 2,163,031. There are plans to widen the road, grade it, improve the curves and make drains, and lay the stones.

After the construction of roads and footpaths, tourists going to Todke will be able to travel safely and easily, said Ward Chairman Man Bahadur Thajali. “Travel is expected to be safe, comfortable and travel time and accident risk is reduced,” he said.

A team of Nepal Tourism Board’s Gandaki Provincial Office Pokhara and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) returned on Tuesday after conducting a feasibility study in Todke. NATTA’s program coordinator Tara Gautam said that the study of the new destination has started from Todke.

“We are planning to promote Todke of Myagdi, Naurikot of Mustang, Gurusangbo Gumba, Bhurtucho and Sekung Lake,” he said. NATTA President Sanjay Kant Sigdel said that the package will be sold to bring tourists after inspecting the tourist sites.
