Kathmandu, Sep 10. The construction work of a short distance tourist route from the district headquarters Gamgadhi to Rara Lake has been expedited.
To reach Rara, the main tourist destination of Karnali, one had to cross a distance of 12 km from the district headquarters Gamgadhi via Rara Airport to Upper Milichaur. To reduce the distance, the municipality has expedited the construction of a 7 km road from Gamgadhi-Talitum-Mathitum to Rara.
After the completion of the construction of the short distance road, the domestic and international tourists visiting Rara will be able to go directly to Rara through the district headquarters. After the completion of the construction of the short distance tourist route to Rara, tourists will be able to stay in the well-equipped hotels in the district headquarters, visit Rara and come back to the district headquarters.
Apart from the lake in Rara, other tourist destinations have not been developed and promoted, so tourists have been returning after shortening their stay. After the construction of this short distance road, tourists will be able to visit Kalika Malika Temple, Chhayanath, Rinimoksha, and Tharp Mashta from the district headquarters Gamgadhi. In this way, the religious and natural tourist sites in the district will be promoted, said the municipality.
The Chhayanath Rara Municipality has been spending Rs. 500,000 in FY 074/75, Rs. 2 million in FY 075/76, and Rs. 5 million in the last fiscal year for the construction of this tourist route.
